perhaps if you'd actually check the original file, you'd get the point: that archiver is perfectly fine, and has been used on BBSs before (and never clashed with any fancy rules). and recommending lynx over a self extracting prg is just amazingly idiotic. trolling? yeah right. i wish i was.

Groepaz, if you want to troll as usual, perhaps open a forum thread?

but you realise that the point of this archiver is that you _dont_ need any tools to extract it? /o\ (and it IS a .prg file, of course - if you dont screw up the uploading that is)

No worries Larry, it all worked out fine eventually.

Like DiDi said, plain file, lnx or zip advised.. and if it's picky, just be sure to mention in a post which exact file is needed, so people downloading know what tool is needed to extract.

Also Sysop's might want to check the file and see if it complies with their specific board rules.

the archiver used was totally fine (in fact, anything works better than this lynx shit). the problem was that someone extracted the file from the d64 before uploading, and created a .p00 (PC64) file in the process.

I use Lynx XI. Works fine, it seems.

Didn't upload on the Boards yesterday. But I'll inform my Groupmate. Seems there went something wrong in the hurry. I send an D64 via E-Mail with a LYNXed (infact not LYNX, but an Archiver from F4CG) Format, coz I couldn't transfer anything from my PC to BBS or real Hardware. I had to DL my own stuff from RapidFire. Lame, but neccessary yesterday.
To stay on the LYNX topic. Which Version of LYNX do you use on today releases ? I remember incompatibilities between LYNX Versions in the 90ies.

Didi: I have PM:ed Larry and pushed him in the Lynx direction. :) No more p00.

BBS uploads should be plain Prg, Lynx or disk zip, nothing else. So P00 was no good choice. As the opponents accept the win of ROLE... Well, but better use different format for Upload next times.
