really good, not sure if I like the dark blue cloak dithered with dark grey, imho black with only very little dark blue would have been better

I did not know this version. Look better, there is a version (bluish) for a game. I was inspired by this one which is darker.

"... which removes the mysterious and threatening atmosphere of the original work."

So this is remake? Can we see the original to compare?

Hello,
As there is one likes to criticize my work in an acerbic way (Soul Revenge (Loading Picture) and Snake Vs Bomb 2) and those of other nice people,
i decided to do the same. But not in a gratuitous way as he likes to do, i prefer to wet my shirt by taking risks.
So i redesigned “from scratch” one of his drawings.
It was not difficult to choose him because in the end, he doesn't draw much, is that a sign of laziness? So i chose “The Nighland”.
Why this Image? Because he likes the play of lights and he had reproached me on one of my works that I did not know how to manage them. So this image is the perfect candidate.

Here’s the his version.

Improvement points :
- The title is not integrated into the picture, a black rectangle surrounds the title. It is not elegant and the letter 'A' is not symmetrical.
- The title is not centered.
- The colors are badly chosen, I have the impression of being at Christmas time (purple color).
- Looks like it's daytime.
- Cross shadows are missing.
- Dithering of moon, ice, and snow failed.
- The character's cape is not detailed enough.
- Part of the moon is out of frame, yet it is also a character just like the man.
- At the bottom of the background, the mist and the trees/rocks are missing. They have been replaced by fir trees, which removes the mysterious and threatening atmosphere of the original work.

Positive :
- The fir trees are well made.
- The “rfx” signature is nice.

For me, it's an effortless and without love adaptation, i feel like it's mocking the spectator.
Also, given the non-centered position of the title like on the tape cover when opened and laid flat,
and the big chunks as ice and snow, it looks like this image has been converted.

In the end, he doesn't apply his "good advice" that he gives to others to himself.

As he asks me every time, i offer and dedicate him the staging of my version.

Now i return the question to him. Can you provide the staging of your version to remove the doubt of a conversion?

Notice : At his request, i must deleted some references.
