Release id #62443 : Acidchild Ranx July 1993

What's the point of having a note in CSDb?
I've got a shitload of those... shall I up those too? ;-)

Personal (swappers)-rankings have been a tradition for ages. It often came in the form of a small demo/screen, but ofcourse the use of a note was much more convenient. (noters weren't that commonly used before 1990 iirc.)

This combined with other notes available on csdb.. makes it alright for me. Eventually, these notes might become more interesting once we try to visualize/investigate the smaller social networks within the scene. Something i'd be very fond of.

Then again, the Strider issue is an argument NOT to do it, as they were mostly personal and contains information which might not have been published elsewhere.

I deleted all personal notes on the disks I transfered to d64.
"PERSONAL" is personal and I think everybody should be asked first... I am really upset how certain people handle such information.

I have uploaded 2-3 disk notes which were from my point of view having some scene historic relevance: e.g. The End which documents the end of Paramount.

Releases often name coders, musicians, crackers etc., but swappers are heavily underrated... Only ranks can point them out properly.

Given the fact that a lot of names are mentioned in this one, together with a date, I think the social value makes it worth keeping.

So, ignore my initial post ;-)
Case closed.

Also part of the heritage. I do not think that personal information are too easily accessible, though. This is more the case with html as the Strider case shows, I believe (If I am mistaken, please let me know),
